
This is another shot from last night's bonfire. Though it's much tougher to pull off, I prefer photographing people in natural light (lit by the glow of the fire) as they're talking. From left to right, we have Jessica, Jeff, Tricia, and Natalie, all of whom are cool people.
I'm really impressed with my camera's ability to pull off low light photos. Yes, it requires me to shoot at settings like ISO 3200, f1.4, but if the fire is especially bright and people are close enough, you can get reasonable shutter speeds. Fast lenses are a beautiful thing. You have to be especially careful to nail the focus as the depth of field wide open is razor thin.
