We played Boston College this evening in what was one of the most exciting games of bball I've seen. The crowd really came to life and it was a thrill to be in the stadium with all the other screaming fans. The game was really close, but we beat BC 60-58! It looks like our team is doing pretty well this year, considering how many new players we have.
I'm a fan of this wide-angle-under-the-basket look as it makes the viewer feel like they're right there watching the game. The other day, I came to the conclusion that sports photography isn't my expertise. I like other types of photography better. Consequently, when shooting today's game, I was pretty laid back and relaxed about it and did the best job shooting bball I've ever done. haha.
Perhaps the highlight of the game was one time as we were shooting, the players started getting to the point where they're almost running us over. Scott, who happened to be sitting next to me, and I both ducked backwards to get out of the way. He had instinctively dropped his camera to his lap, but fired a couple of shots blindly anyways. I gave him a surprised look and we both started laughing. I doubt anything great came out of it, but it was still funny to hear him go for the shot.
The semester starts back up tomorrow. Here we go again!
