Alright, it's time to start shooting with a point and shoot for a bit. My pocket will now be home for a Canon A620 until my 20D comes back repaired.
In great light where you can get decent shutter speeds, it's not so bad. My initial impressions of the camera are pretty good. It offers the ability to manually focus, shoot in Aperture Priority or Manual exposure, has a flip-out LCD screen, and a 4x zoom which is the 35mm equivalent focal length range of 35mm - 140mm. Not bad! It's nice to look through the viewfinder and see the actual exposure, regardless of how inadequate the viewfinder is. I'm not sure I could get used to shooting with one hand again. Two handed shooting offers much more support, especially when you need lots of light for decent shutter speeds. Anyways, without getting too deep in technicalities, it's going to be fun to shoot with and will really make me appreciate how great SLRs really are.
