Sunrise at Newfound Gap »

After spending the night in our awesome cabin, we go up at 5:30am to make it to the 7:40am sunrise at Newfound Gap. After learning from the previous night's temperatures, we really dressed warmly. After this sunrise, we headed back to the cabin to make some breakfast, check out, and head on into the park. A light frost had falled over the trees and leaves overnight.

From this view, you can see the morning fog sitting peacefully behind a line of fall colors. This was taken shortly after the sun broke the horizon so its light is gently caressing the tree tops and can be seen streaming in just beneath the mountain tops.
