The next day, after a night of rain, we got our gear together and headed over to Cade's Cove, under overcast skies. Cade's Cove is said to be the most beautiful and most popular location for photographers to visit so we decided to devote an entire day to it. I think that it would be better under sunny skies and dramatic lighting rather than overcast skies. Waterfalls, on the other hand, are perfect to shoot under these conditions.
One of the things I love about the Smoky Mountain NP is that they have hundreds if not thousands of turnouts all over the park. We took one of them and went exploring. The place we stopped is probably the most beautiful place I've ever seen, and it's not even marked on any maps!! It's a series of waterfalls with unbelivably gorgeous scenery everywhere you look. It was like heaven... Photos don't even come close to doing this place justice!
