This morning I flew into San Francisco where I'll be for the next few days. Today after arriving, I met up with Amanda and we went up, with some of her Berkeley grad school friends, to Baker Beach right next to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a lot of fun, frisbee'ing, relaxing, and photography'ing.
Shooting the GG bridge was a lot of fun. The beach (to the right of this photo) was filled with people and the coast was getting pounded by massive waves. So, in order to both clean people out of the image and get closer to the waves, I kept moving closer and closer to the water, to the point where I was literally holding my tripod down in the water as waves rushed in, splashing up my body and drenching me up to about the hips in cold water. It was a total blast.
To give you a sense of scale, look how big the waves are on the left relative to the person on the right. Yeah, crazy large.
10 points to you if you can spot the reflection of the GG bridge in the water.
