Last Friday I met up w/ some folks from the Outdoor Adventure Club of the South for the first time to go on a hike. They're a great bunch, organizing several hikes per WEEK! It sure is nice to have so many options and to have the logistics all taken care of, not to mention the great company!
This trip was specifically a meditation hike, so the seven of us hiked 2 miles up to the top of the mountain, did a guided meditation which was perfectly matched to the scenery given that it was talking about trees and mountains as part of the meditation, then hiked back (which was much easier given we were going back down the mountain). It was a great way to spend the day.
This photo is actually from an overlook we pulled out at just prior to arriving at the mountain we hiked up, but the view here is better than the view from the actual mountaintop. The mountain is just a few miles past the border of north Georgia as you cross over into North Carolina.
