I hiked up Arabia Mountain this week with the AOC. This mountain is a little ways east of Atlanta off of I-20, relatively close to the city compared to most of the hikes I've been doing.
This hike is awesome. You basically work your way up the face of the rock mountain by following these stacks of stones called cairns. As soon as I approached the park and saw the terrain we'd be exploring, I got really excited. It's stone and water. The lower part of the mountain featured lots of wet runoff like this, but as you got higher up the mountain you started finding a bunch of puddles. If only I had worn my boots instead of my trailrunners I'd be jumping into them and splashing my way up the mountain. :D
