Christmas Tree at Shining Rock

Christmas Tree at Shining Rock »

I'm packing up now and about to head out to the Smokies (Thurs-Sun) for an awesome action-packed snow hike up to Mt. LeConte.

In the meantime, here's a few more photos from Shining Rock two weeks ago. This is the Christmas tree we started heading towards when going off-trail. We started going towards it right up the mountain. This is right as the brush started getting thick. It was much thicker behind this tree.

The tree itself was awesome, a good 70-80 feet tall minimum. Plus it had a big open canopy area underneath that you could hang out under. I love this tree... :)
