Ariel atop Mt. LeConte »

Here's a quick self-portrait I'd snapped of myself up on top of Mt. LeConte. This was the first time I'd hiked with ski goggles. I bought them before heading up to the mountain and am so glad my friends suggested I pick up a pair instead of bring the sunglasses I was intending on bringing.

Not only did they protect against the snow from hitting my eyes, but they protected the whole exposed section of my face from snow, wind, and cold. They would fog up and condensation would freeze on the lenses so it became a chore to clean them off repeatedly (spitting in them like as if it was a scuba mask doesn't help by the way, haha...) and I wound up taking them off at times when they got too frozen over, but when they were clean they were awesome. Gotta figure out a trick for keeping them clean...
