Alright... so my last day at Mardi Gras. Today we went to the St. Anne's parade, which was radically different from the previous parades. Instead of standing at the sidelines watching floats go by and catching beads that were being thrown off, people get dressed up in costume and march down the streets. We ARE the parade! Woohoo!!
Starting at the top and moving clockwise, we have Ryan and Lane who were some type of happy masked bandits I suppose, Jeff who was a tickle-me-Jesus, Darryl our couchsurfing host who was a jester, David who was a makeshift slutina, and Adiba, me, and Glenn who were "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil." (I made the hands out of the fake boobs that Lane and Adiba bought on the street a few days ago. I'm very happy with how they turned out.) :)
The parade was amazing. I'll have to post a gallery of pictures later, but there were thousands upon thousands of AMAZING creative costumes! I was blown away by how cool people's imaginations were. We all had costumes out of bits and pieces that were available, and ours all turned out well. Some others who actually planned theirs out did some stellar stuff...
We also had fun today doing random things like going to a few gay bars (they've got a great energy there actually) and eating dinner at this monumentally delicious local place called Coops (I had this tasty tasty friend shrimp/oyster burger).
I actually had my wallet stolen out of my pack towards the end of the night and so now I am without credit cards or a drivers licence, which makes taking a road trip pretty interesting... :p I'm very happy that Glenn is here with me so he can drive. I've also already had my cards cancelled and had replacements all shipped to my parents back in Georgia who I'll have send them to me somewhere along the way... I'm so happy seeing that yes, I created every single experience that is arising in my life, I am directly responsible for everything that happens, and I have the capacity to create whatever it is that I want. It feels like my creative powers have been jacked way up lately and so it's becoming super important that I only focus upon that which I want. My time to manifest has been shrunk significantly and it's become pretty obvious that I create my reality. Learning to focus upon only what I want is a skill I really need to strengthen. :)
Alright, time to get a little sleep for we head out to Dallas in the morning. I'm shooting a dance and cheer competition this weekend and so I gotta get some rest before we head out. New Orleans has been thrilling and I'm so excited about the experience. Dallas, here we come!!!
